Your Steps to Stress-Free Science

1

Get a Box

Buy one of our "Figure It Out Science" boxes and we'll ship it right to your door - everything you need included!
2

Solve Challenges

Open the box and start right away with the challenge on Level 1. Each kit starts simple, then slowly increases in difficulty as your kids (and you!) figure out each challenge.
3

Learn Science

As kids solve challenges, they start to gain a deeper understanding of what is going on.  But oftentimes, a teacher is still necessary. Each challenge has a brief explanation of the real science they just figured out so they have a solid understanding to move on to the next level!

Challenge-Based Learning

(The challenges and brief explanations are the main curriculum - not a textbook.)
Figure It Out Science

Homeschool Science Your Kids Will Love

Most science activities have your kids follow instructions, not figure it out.

(This leads to children that don't really understand what they just did or why. They can't recreate it on their own.  And they'll forget the content they just "learned" by the end of the week.)

We want more for your children.

Challenge-Based Learning

Kids learn best from experience, from doing things on their own, not from being told how things work.  So why are most science curriculums focused more on reading, watching, or copying, rather than doing?

We give kids challenges - starting easy and slowly increasing in difficulty.  As kids figure it out, they start to really learn how the world around them works on a much deeper level.

Science for the Whole Family

Trying to teach science individually to each child is a recipe for burnout, and trying to mix and match from various curriculums targeted at different ages so you can try to teach your family together is exhausting.

You want ONE family curriculum, yet you should be able to expect more out of your middle schoolers than your elementary schoolers.

The challenges in our kits are ideal for 3rd-8th grade (and we've had plenty of adults say they learned a lot!). Work on the challenges together  as a family while the middle school students can supplement with our workbooks to dive deeper.

Flexible Scheduling

How do you like teaching science?  Once a week for an hour? Twice a week for 30 minutes? Focusing heavily for a month before moving on to a different subject?  Or just fitting it in when you have a moment?

These kits are made with flexibility in mind.  Each level (or challenge) will take 5-15 minutes, so you can pull the box out and do as many or as few challenges as you want in a single session.  Next time you're ready to do science, the box will be  waiting for you to pull it out and pick up where you left off.

Open and Go

Homeschool parents have too many things to teach and worry about.  (I know... I am one)

Our science kits are truly open and go.  Open the box, pull out the cards and any manipulatives inside, and complete as many or as few challenges as you want.

Start with Level 1, read the challenge, complete the challenge, read the science card, then move onto the next level and do it again.

"Science should be about problem solving, not just copying steps"

About Us

Hi! I'm Linsey.  Several years ago, when I started homeschooling my four children, I struggled finding a science curriculum I was excited about. I wanted something hands-on, focused on problem-solving (not copying steps), and would only take 1-2 hours a week

That magic science curriculum didn't exist.  So we decided to lean on my bachelor's in physics, my master's in education, my experience in game design, and my husband's PhD in physics to create our own kits.

Now, kids can solve challenges rather than follow directions.   Now, kids can learn science on a deeper level as they wrestle with ideas, play with real components, and relate science to everyday life.  And now, you as the parent in charge, don't have to stress about science class anymore.
